Minneapolis Skyline

Taken from the base of the Witch Hat water tower in Prospect Park. It was my third stop on this stormy night when a second band of rain passed by downtown Minneapolis and the skies lit up in bright blue, purple and orange. Meanwhile, it was still sprinkling in the park with a lightning show at my back.
Quiet Night on Grand Avenue

It was about 10pm on Tuesday night. The heavy rain had just passed through St. Paul. What is typically a busy place on a summer night, and one of my favorites, was eerily deserted.
Fountain Fun

John Pihaly has added a photo to the pool:
Driving past a park fountain Tuesday night, I did a double-take when I saw this scene. Hours earlier someone had added dish soap to the fountain creating a little impromptu fun for kids and adults alike. The fountain was full of life as the bubbles would rise and fall, then float up in the air. The suds were so light it was like cotton candy suspended above the ground. Dozens of spectators and some police stopped and watched in amazement.
On a side note, taking photos at a scene like this did cause many to ask if I was responsible for the suds....I was not, I promise :)

After a line of storms rolled through Minnesota, the clouds broke just before sunset. The result, a windy, beautiful evening.

The billboards from this series on Nicollet are for the website mspmoretolife.com. How fitting to capture a moment with one of the people who brings more to life here.
There is a large Somali population in the twin cities. Like so many other cultures who've immigrated to the area, they've brought new foods and customs and contribute to the rich diversity that is MSP.

One of the nicest places to stay in the Twin Cities area if you ever need a hotel and have a few extra pennies to spare.

This view has always been interesting to me and I have photographed it before. I like the contrast of the historic building on the right as it meets the modern building in the center of the photo. Part of what makes a city beautiful and vibrant is this mix of old and new.

A 417-foot tall skyscraper in downtown Saint Paul, MN. It's the 1st National Bank Building, although the branches are stealing the show here...
