Minneapolis Saint Paul is home to a large population of Asian ethnicities. With more than 176,000 identified Asians living in the state, Minneapolis Saint Paul is a thriving hub for Asian culture. Minnesota has the 15th highest Asian population in the U.S. with the majority of Asian Minnesotans inhabiting Minneapolis Saint Paul and the surrounding area.
Minnesota’s Asian population nearly doubled from 1990 to 2000, growing faster than the U.S. Asian population as a whole. Roughly three-quarters of those that moved to Minnesota during that time were immigrants, born outside of the U.S.
