Health and Wellness
Recognizing the rapidly changing face of the state’s population, there are many health organizations serving the Hispanic community to ensure access and success in addressing health needs, including numerous organizations and clinics that address physical, mental and dental health. A few that specifically cater to the Hispanic community include:
- La Familia Guidance Center – La Familia Guidance Center provides culturally competent mental health services in order to enhance the quality of life for Chicano/Latino youth and families, including: marriage and family therapy, psychotherapy, youth intervention, home-based services and education and prevention.
- West Side Community Health Services – With multiple locations in Minneapolis Saint Paul this clinic, known to locals as “La Clinica,” offers innovative and multicultural/multilingual health care services including: primary, specialty, preventive, urgent care, complementary, pharmacy, dental, OB/GYN, mental health and assistance with health plan enrollment. Also houses ClĂnica Dental Helping Hand.
- HealthEast Salud Integral – A bilingual and bicultural clinic, it is Saint Paul’s first private Hispanic clinic. It provides an array of health care services to the Latino community including: family medicine, onsite lab and X-ray, certified nurse midwives and prevention and education.
- Catholic Charities of Minneapolis Saint Paul – Hispanic Outreach locations in the metro area offer clinical therapy for Hispanic adults and group psychotherapy. Its licensed therapists provide treatment for depression, anxiety, post traumatic stress disorders, grief, loss and sexual abuse survivors.
- Comunidades Latinas Unidas En Servicio – Comunidades Latinas Unidas En Servicio offers comprehensive mental and chemical health services designed to serve the Hispanic community in a bilingual and bicultural manner.
