Arts and Culture

Classic Shakespeare, Italian opera, modern ballet, chamber orchestra, a rousing comedy or a rock concert, Minneapolis Saint Paul has a playbill for you. Magical performances come alive in neighborhood community theaters, mid-size, historic and internationally-designed theater houses.

Quite simply, arts and culture are part of everyday life. School trips to museums, lessons at the acclaimed MacPhail Center for Music, attending neighborhood art shows or the nation's largest Fringe Festival. This area is rich in arts and accessible. Free and discounted admissions are available.

We have nearly 60 museums collecting art, history and science. Life here is a living encyclopedia. Festivals for art and film are also a must. If in search of the limelight, enroll in art or design school, dance class or improv comedy, classes are limitless. Bravo or Brava!

Extensive information about our arts and cultural scene is available at Meet Minneapolis and Saint Paul's theater and museum sites.

Because there's so much to do and so many resources in Minneapolis Saint Paul, we're continuing to add information to this section daily. Visit often. If you have your own stories or resources to share, please post a comment below!

The fallout is a city where visitors will find more art, architecture, theater and music than they could digest in a weekend, or even a week, all in a tidy, easy-to-reach and easy-to-navigate metropolis.
